There is also a marked trailhead, directly across Route 80 from the parking lot at the park entrance, which accesses a trail extension that meets up with the trail at about 0.05 miles south of the other entrance. This route adds 0.3 miles to the length of the trek. The northern section of the trail is located within Cockaponset State Forest. The southern sections of the trail pass near Deer Lake Camp and through privately owned property. The southern trailhead ends at River Road, just west of the intersection of Papermill Road and River Road.〔 ==References==
